I am provisionally licensed as a Mental Health Counselor and certified in Career Counseling. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling Degree in 2014 from Doane University. I have been a practicing Career Counselor at the university level since 2011 and broadened my practice in 2021.
My passion is working with young people through difficult transitions. Youth and teens, through young adults, who are working to traverse life in the face of adversity, change, growth, and challenge. As a military veteran, I am also prepared to engage and assist individuals and families of those who have chosen to serve our country.
For me, it is important to build a positive and candid therapeutic relationship first. Once we have built a relationship of trust, it is my goal to care so you are able to heal and ease into working to achieve your personal, academic, and professional goals.
My areas of interest are adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, life transitions (new school, home, career etc…), stress, family conflict, self-esteem issues, the LGBTQIA+ community, and military counseling. This is not an all-inclusive list, and I pride myself in helping all who thrive to feel empowered in a therapeutic relationship with me.
My therapy partner, Grayson, is also on hand to provide comfort (if desired) during our therapeutic partnership. He is a certified and insured therapy dog through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD) and is AKC Canine Good Citizenship (CGC) Certified. He is always happy to help.
