Relationships are at the center of so much of our lives. When a relationship feels disconnected, stressful, or stuck, it can be difficult to know what to do next. I enjoy helping couples, parents, families, and individuals better understand themselves and their relationships so they can create meaningful, lasting change.
I work with couples navigating relationship difficulties, communication challenges, infidelity, and rebuilding trust after an affair. I also enjoy working with parents of young children, including parents who are adjusting to the challenges of parenthood or navigating parenting after their own experiences of trauma. My training in attachment-based parenting helps me support parents in building strong, connected relationships with their children while also taking care of themselves.
I have experience working with individuals and families experiencing trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and OCD, as well as individuals who feel stuck in patterns they want to change. My goal is for you to leave therapy feeling more hopeful, empowered, and able to make choices that align with the life and relationships you want.
My approach is collaborative and grounded in curiosity. I believe there is usually a reason behind the ways we respond to difficult experiences, and understanding those patterns can create opportunities for change. You are not broken or “wrong,” and therapy is not about blaming yourself or someone else. Instead, we work together to understand what is happening and identify new ways forward.
I am certified in Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT) and Level 1 Gottman Couples Therapy and am trained in EMDR, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, somatic therapy, and the Attachment Injury Repair Model (AIRM). I especially value EMDR for clients who feel like they have tried to move forward but continue to feel stuck.
I bring a calm, compassionate presence to therapy and have experience supporting individuals and families through difficult and sometimes crisis-level situations. I want you to feel comfortable being honest, heard, and understood, and I welcome feedback about what is and is not working in therapy.
I hold a PLMHP and earned my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Outside of therapy, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, swimming, reading, and spending time outdoors with my two young children. I love experiencing the world through their eyes, and occasionally getting completely absorbed in a new TV show.
